Portland Growler Co. Teams Up With The Growlerie and Sasquatch Brewery

Portland, OR, June 3, 2014 — A subset of Portland’s craft brew community is collaborating to celebrate Father’s Day and raise funds for Portland’s fledgling radio station  XRAY FM.  Portland Growler Company, The Growlerie and Sasquatch Brewery  are all focused on delivering the best crafts brews to Portlanders and beyond.  “Tastes Better than a New Tie: The Art of Craft Beer,” is an event meant to draw, fathers, sons, music aficionados and beer lovers of all kinds out to the Growlerie in Beaverton, on Thursday June 12, from 5:00pm until close.

Sasquatch will be taking over several taps with exclusive brew’s for the event, such as a Beermosa, and more traditional favorites, like Oregon Session Ale. Portland’s newest community radio station XRAY FM will be on hand with DJs spinning a variety of tunes and 10% of all sales from the evening plus raffle proceeds being donated to the non-profit station.

The trio of beer focused companies had been discussing a collaboration for a few months, when they decided that the week of Father’s Day was a perfect fit. Raise a glass to dad, and deliver him with a delightfully refreshing growler full of freshly poured beer, seemed like a perfect reason to celebrate. With 30 taps to choose from, including ciders and kombuchas, plus ceramic growlers, and brewing kits, the possibilities are endless. Giving back to the community is something at the core of all three company’s values, and the new forum XRAY FM is providing felt like the perfect cause to support. Their programming is a progressive blend of talk and music that amplifies both the sounds and the voices of our city. Local thinkers, comedians, journalists, and commentators take over the airwaves to connect with their community, seek the truth and have a little fun too.

The people behind the handcrafted ceramic growlers from Portland Growler Company and Sasquatch’s brewer Charlie VanMeter will both be on hand to answer questions and chat with guests. For just $5.00 guests can purchase a raffle ticket and enter to win a gift pack for dad (or themselves)  including a $25 gift card to True Value Hardware, $25 gift card to the Barbers, a Growlerie Starter Kit, a growler from Portland Growler Company, some Sasquatch goodies and more. All raffle proceeds will be donated directly to XRAY FM. The event is free and the patio will be open to accommodate the extra foot traffic.
