Cascade Brewing Kriek 2013 Bottle & Draft Release
Its that time of year again when Cascade Brewing will be releasing their ever popular Kriek. Yes, Kriek 2013 will be released on draft and in bottles at the Raccoon Lodge and Barrel House on Thursday, March 20th at 4:30pm.
This NW style sour red ale is a blend of red ales aged in oak barrels for up to eight months, then aged on fresh Bing and sour pie cherries for an additional six months. Aromas of rich, dark cherries, oak and slight hints of cinnamon are noticed up front. Dark, tart cherries and light spice notes dance on the palate, leading to a rich, dark, sparkling finish of tart cherries and oak all at 8.2% ABV.
750ml Bottles will be priced at $20 each with no limit. And if you do not live anywhere near Portland you’re in luck, Cascade will be selling this year’s Kriek through their online store also beginning at 4:30pm.
For those of us in Portland you’ll be able to order this beer on draft. If you swing by the Raccoon Lodge or Barrel House on Thursday draft pours will be $6.50 per glass or $2.00 per taster.
