Killer IPA Fest Tonight at N.W.I.P.A.
Portland’s first exclusively IPA taphouse, N.W.I.P.A., will be tapping more than a handful of the most floral and sought after India Pale Ales in the region for this event designed for lupulin addicts and hopheads in mind. Specialty beers from Boneyard, Laurelwood, Barley Brown’s, Fort George, 10 Barrel, Oakshire and more. Haven’t been to this great little spot with big hops, check it out, where the motto is “Only the tastiest of IPAs on tap or to go!” This special event will feature limited release tasting glasses so make sure to get down there early on.
The cost for tonight’s event is $5. This includes the official KillerBeerWeek / N.W.I.P.A. glass along with one drink ticket. Each additional ticket will be one dollar that you can purchase with your glass. Certain beers will be one ticket for four ounces and two for eight ounces. The others will be two tickets for four ounces and three for eight.
The rotating taplist for tonight will feature these Killer IPA’s:
- 10 Barrel Brewing Boise ZAM IPA
- Barley Brown’s Pallet Jack
- Barley Brown’s Late Harvest Fresh Hop Forklift
- Boneyard Brewing’s Hop Venom
- Fort George Brewery’s Double Dry Hopped Vortex
- Laurelwood Public House & Brewery’s Megafauna IIPA
- Oakshire Brewing’s Galaxy IPA
This list is a delight for any hophead. Barely Brown’s Pallet Jack is coming off a Gold Medal win at this year’s Great American Beer Festival and Laurelwood’s Megafauna took top honors at this years National IPA Challenge. One of the beers I’m most looking forward to trying is from our friend Shawn Kelso of 10 Barrel Brewing’s Boise, Idaho Pub. Kelso sent his ZAM IPA (85 IBU, 7.5% ABV) over for this Killer night. Named after the hops used in Kelso’s latest IPA creation. Zythos, Amarillo and Magnum hops give this IPA a nice flora and grapefruit aroma. An IPA for the true IPA lover specially shipped over from Boise, Idaho for our friends at N.W.I.P.A and Killer Beer Week.
