Laurelwood Brewing Releases Organic Espresso Stout, Coniferous Pale Ale, & Double Workhorse IPA

Its the first of the year and Laurelwood Brewing Co. announces their first new bottle releases of the year with Organic Portland Roasting Espresso Stout and Coniferous Pale Ale along with the draft only release of Double Workhorse IPA.

Organic Portland Roasting Espresso Stout makes it triumphant return to warm one up during the colder, damp winter months here in the Pacific Northwest. This stout combines a couple of the best elements of Portland, coffee and beer. When it came to the beer’s creation, Laurelwood turned to the experts of Portland Roasting Coffee for their brains and beans.

This isn’t the first time the brewery and coffee crew have joined forces. Laurelwood’s Organic Espresso Stout is a yearly favorite. “Every fall the brew staff looks foreword to picking out that year’s coffee blend,” says Shane Watterson, Brewmaster for Laurelwood. “Portland Roasting does a great job with their coffee and they have a lot of organic options for us to blend, so it’s always a really fun experience finding the coffee for our stout each year.”

This magical blend produces the rich and chocolaty taste you find in quality espresso, enhanced by a warm aroma of dark roasted malts. In addition, the stout is Oregon Tilth certified organic – an element that Laurelwood Brewing Co. has been known to support.

Join both Laurelwood and Portland Roasting in celebrating the return of the Organic Portland Roasting Espresso Stout. The release party on Thursday, January 15th from 6:00 to 8:00pm will take place at Portland Roasting’s headquarters at 340 SE 7th Avenue. The event will include sampling of the beer as well as the special coffee blended exclusively for the stout.

Coniferous Pale Ale
This season’s installment of the Portland Pale Project proves that pale ales are a suitable winter beverage. Coniferous boasts a citrus and pine hop flavor pairing, toned by a malty backbone. This well-balanced American-Style Pale Ale is a tasty way to get you through the colder months.

Double the Workhorse
This version of Workhorse is more than just double the fun. Laurelwood’s much-loved Double Workhorse IPA is currently on tap at its Northeast Sandy pub. We are also aware of a few kegs around town. Look for it soon as it won’t last long!
