Portland Celebrates Cheese at The Wedge
The Oregon Cheese Guild is proud to host their annual celebration of cheese this year at Portland’s Green Dragon. This years event for all ages will take place on Saturday, October 5th from Noon – 5:00pm.
The Wedge will feature artisan, specialty and farmstead cheesemakers as well as accoutrement vendors from throughout the Northwest. The farmer’s market-style event will appeal to the cheese lover looking to taste and try new flavors and styles. Classes will cover pairing with beer as well as spirits. Children and families will enjoy live music and the kid’s corner where kids can color alongside a real dairy princess-ambassador.
More than 20 Northwest cheesemakers will showcase their finest cheeses and will include: Ancient Heritage Dairy, Briar Rose Creamery, La Mariposa, Portland Creamery, Full Circle Creamery, Rogue Creamery, Tillamook and Willamette Valley Cheese Co. to name a few. Attendees can also find accoutrements that are the ideal partner to their favorite cheese including: charcuterie, unique jams and artisan breads.
The cheese festival is hosted by the Oregon Cheese Guild and Rogue Ales & Spirits. The Oregon Cheese Guild suggests a $5 entry contribution to help the nonprofit Guild grow Oregon’s artisan cheesemaker community.
