Widmer Brothers Brewing Releases Dreifecta as its 2019 Summer Seasonal

Originally released last summer in a very limited run from its Innovation Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewing ramps up production on Dreifecta as it becomes the brewery’s 2019 Summer Seasonal. Dreifecta is a 5% ABV German-Style Pilsner brewed with a special blend of three hops and three malts.

Widmer Brothers will host the Portland launch party for Drifecta on Wednesday, June 19th at Red Star Tavern (inside the Hotel Monaco) from 5:00-7:00pm. The release party will feature $3.00 cans of Dreifectz, complimentary appetizers, and live music from Portland-based folk band The Junebugs.

The event will also be a fundraiser as a portion of proceeds from Dreifecta sold at the Red Star Tavern event will go to SOLVE, Oregon Dog Rescue, and the Trevor Project. With each Dreifecta purchase, attendees will receive a $1.00 charity token to donate to one of three Widmer Brothers non-profit partners. Here’s a breakdown on each of the three charities – SOLVE Oregon works to bring Oregonians together to improve our environment; Oregon Dog Rescue provides a no-kill environment while helping animals find their new homes; The Trevor Project provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to young LGTBQ people under 25. Additionally, Hotel Monaco will graciously match each dollar donated to the charities during the event on Wednesday.

“What better way to celebrate our new summer seasonal made with three malts and three hops than by donating to three of our favorite charities?” said Widmer Brothers Brand Manager Steven Hallstone in a statement. “We’re excited to support the work these organizations are doing in our community, and we’re also thrilled to share Dreifecta with everyone. We think there’s nothing better than enjoying a light, crisp pilsner in the summer sun.”

Taking its inspiration from the Bavarian classic style Pilsner, Dreifecta is Widmer Brothers’ spin on this style that offers up a light straw color alongside the classic pilsner aroma of light cracker and spicy hops. Dreifecta will be available 6-Pack and 12-Pack 12oz cans from June through September of 2019 throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Dreifecta Stats:
Eins, zwei, drei – Dreifecta German Style Pilsner is brewed with three hops and three malts. Carapils, Munich, and German Pilsner malts create a light malt base, balanced by spicy hop notes of Tradition, Sterling, and Callista. Dreifecta is brewed in the traditional German style, this hoppy pilsner is dry, crisp, and refreshing.
