Tilray Brands To Shut Down Production Brewery at Hop Valley Brewing in Eugene, Oregon
|Less than one year after being acquired by Tilray Brands, Eugene, Oregon based Hop Valley Brewing will reportedly close its production brewery in the college town and move it to other nearby Tilray owned breweries.
Once the brewery goes offline, this work will likely be picked up at Widmer Brothers Brewing in Portland and 10 Barrel Brewing in Bend, the two other Oregon breweries that are part of the Tilray beer portfolio. Hop Valley Brewing will continue operating its pubs in nearby Springfield while retaining its smaller pilot brewery after the production brewery shuts down this summer in Eugene.
We first learned about this pending closure yesterday on Reddit and was then confirmed by Brewbound in a published article earlier today. The unknown on this closure and the personal one is how many jobs will be lost. The published reports each state at least 50 employees will soon be, if not already, in the job market.

Hop Valley Brewing was founded as a brewpub in Springfield back in 2009. The brewery grew during the craft beer boom of the early 2010s and eventually opened a larger production brewery and restaurant in Eugene’s popular Whiteaker neighborhood. Then in 2016, Hop Valley Brewing sold to Molson Coors to be part of the mega brewer’s craft beer arm, the now defunct Tenth and Blake. This lasted for eight years as Hop Valley was sold to its current owner, Tilray Brands in August 2024.
