Portland Burger Week Returns August 21 – 27, 2023
|If you’re a fan of burgers, this is the week for you as the Portland Mercury returns with its Burger Week all across Portland! From Monday, August 21 through Sunday, August 27, Burger Week will be taking over 76 restaurants and bars offering a burger for just $8. This means for you try all the burgers; you’ll need to visit nearly 11 locations per day.
Well this is likely not going to happen so you’ll need to prepare and make some choices. Since this can be an overwhelming task, we are taking a look at the 9 local breweries for a total of 11 locations that are participating in Burger Week. This list of breweries include Binary Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, Gigantic Brewing, Grand Fir Brewing, Kell’s Brewery, Laurelwood Brewing, Migration Brewing, Steeplejack Brewing, and Von Ebert Brewing.
The following descriptions are provided by each brewery.
Binary Brewing – SMASH the Hatch
Two crispy SMASHED 100% beef patties covered in melted sharp white cheddar, roasted hatch chile, house pickles, griddled onions, and cilantro mayo.
Crux Fermentation Project – The Eighth Street Wonder
Everything we do at Crux is a project. This cheeseburger variation is no different. We incorporated beer, fermentation, and feedback/involvement from our team. We hope you’ll enjoy!!
Gigantic Brewing Hawthorne Pub – Taste the Awesome Burger!
Experience the coming together of tropical sweet, rich meat, and heat! Our “so damn delicious” pineapple, bacon, Cholula, onion jam is loaded on top of a smash burger patty topped with American cheese. Does it get any better than this? Come see why we call it the “Taste the Awesome Burger!”
Grand Fir Brewing – Green Chili Cheese Burger
Made with hatch green chilies, Fritos, cheese, love
Kells Brewery – Nacho Burger
Kells is famous for its pub grub, our nachos have been on the Travel Channel and the Food Network. We wanted to make a burger that was fun to eat and went well with our brewery’s beers.
Laurelwood Brewing Co – Donny Was a Good Bowler, and a Good Man
Our house-smoked pork belly is to die for, especially paired with our sweet chili aioi! Inspired by the man, the legend, the bowler, Theodore Donald Karabotsos. Don’t ask us why. While you’re here, order a Target Practice – a 12 oz Wood Lager and shot of Jim Beam for $9.
Migration Brewing (N Williams) – The Zach Attack
A taste of the SW right here in the Pacific NW. This will be a do not miss burger for BW2023
Migration Brewing (NE Glisan) – Chimichurrgur
What more do we need to say…chimichurri is always a yes!
Steeplejack Pizza and Beer (Hillsdale) – Hatch Chile Burger
We’ve got the spice, the raspberry ketchup to balance it, and a hatch chile beer releasing that our Pink Boots intern, Gillian, has brought to life.
Von Ebert Brewing (Pearl District + Glendover) – Smoky Pimento BBQ Burger
Our Burger Week recipe was inspired by summertime cookouts, team collaboration, the love of smoked meats, and brought together with a crisp light lager from the Von Ebert Brewing team! All of this was created and brewed with you in mind.
