Eight years ago, Matt Van Wyk and brothers Brian and Doug Coombs opened Alesong Brewing & Blending in Eugene, Oregon. To celebrate this milestone, Alesong will host its 8th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at its countryside brewery just south of Eugene, Oregon.

The 8th Anniversary Celebration will take place from 1:00 – 8:00pm and will feature many of Alesong’s award-winning barrel-aged beer, wine, and cider. In addition to the bevys, there will be live music from local favorite, Inner Limits, complimentary ice cream sandwiches from Alden’s Organics, hot food from the final weekend of Alesong’s Domek pop-up restaurant, and of course, the release of Alesong’s annual Canniversary Collaboration IPA. This one will be available for on-site consumption and in four packs to-go! No reservations necessary (or accepted) to attend.

As a tongue in cheek nod to the common practice of breweries releasing once-a-year anniversary beers outside of their normal production styles, Alesong releases a highly anticipated collaboration IPA in cans every year for its anniversary. This year Alesong worked with Astoria’s Obelisk Beer Co. to create Octolith. The beer is a modern West Coast IPA using all the tropical and citrusy hops du jour, that Alesong doesn’t normally get to play with: Strata, Nelson, and Riwaka. Dave Coyne from Obelisk will be joining the festivities to help present the beer and Alesong will have commemorative koozies to accompany every four-pack purchased.

One of Alesong’s three co-founders, Doug Coombs, says this anniversary is meaningful because it’s a chance to gather and celebrate with our community. “The beer industry is going through a lot of turmoil right now and we’re so thankful for the local support we’ve had that continues to allow us to do something that’s different,” says Coombs. “Plus, we’re ready to party and officially kick off the summer!”
