Bale Breaker Frenz IPA Portland Release Parties
To kick off the new year, Bale Breaker Brewing is back with its Frenz Collaboration Series! The first release of the year is Frenz IPA, a West Coast IPA brewed with three powerhouse Oregon breweries – Breakside Brewery, Barley Brown’s, and Von Ebert Brewing.
Frenz IPA is a 6.3% ABV West Coast IPA with intense aromatics of grapefruit, apricot, and tropical fruit that result in soft bitterness and a clean crisp finish. The core aroma and hop flavor come from a combination of Simcoe®, Chinook, and experimental HBC 630 hops. In addition to traditional T90 pellets and modern Cryo hop pellets, this Frenz IPA release also features Simcoe® and Chinook YCH701 – a high-oil aromatic liquid hop extract – to really get the hop aroma to pop.
This week, Frenz IPA will be released in Portland, Oregon with three release parties. The first will take place at Roscoe’s on Tuesday, February 20 from 5:00 – 8:00pm. Then the following day, Wednesday, February 21, the release parties will move to both Belmont Station from 4:00 – 7:00pm and also at Loyal Legion.
On tap will be beers from all four breweries, with the spotlight on Frenz IPA. We are told that brewers from all four breweries will be in town at these releases to make these events a Meet the Brewer sort of affair.
So far, we have a tap list from Belmont Station. It’ll have Western Winds Hoppy Pilsner and Strip Solitaire Hazy IPA from Bale Breaker; Pallet Jack IPA from Barley Brown’s; Wanderlust IPA from Breakside Brewery; and Volatile Substance IPA from Von Ebert.
