Varietal Beer Co. Partners with Day One Distribution
One of the Yakima Valley’s top breweries will re-enter the Oregon market after a short hiatus. Varietal Beer Co. from Sunnyside, Washington will once again distribute its beers throughout the western half of the Beaver State and with this go-round, the brewery has partnered with Day One Distribution.
Varietal Beer Co. was in 2016 by a group of friends with a common goal of bringing great beer to the Yakima Valley, Washington State’s hop-growing region. Led by head brewer and co-founder Chris Baum, the team at Varietal Beer Co. brought its wide variety of beer styles to the lower Yakima Valley beginning in 2018. Since then, the brewery has been producing some the region’s best beer as the brew team hits the mark across multiple beer styles. Varietal Beer Co. brews everything from light lagers to hop forward ales to wild ales to barrel aged stouts!
During its tenure, Varietal Beer Co. has earned eight medals at the Washington Beer Awards, two medals at the Best of Craft Beer Awards, and two silver medals at the Great American Beer Festival. The brewery has also created over 400 unique beers, comprising over 75 various styles.
When Varietal Beer Co. first began distributing its beers in Oregon it had partnered with the now shuttered Alebriated Distribution. Now the Sunnyside brewers is excited to partner with Day One in Oregon as with this new deal, its beers will be distributed through a retail network of over 600 retail locations across the Willamette Valley, Western, Central, and Southern Oregon.
Varietal’s first shipment to Day One arrived today and features two flagship beers which will begin heading to stores and taprooms this week. This includes kegs and cases of Sunflight Citrus Wheat and Sup Cuz IPA, a collaboration with Loza Farms. Shipments to Oregon are currently projected to be approximately once a month.
