Pike Space Needle Golden IPA Now Available in 12 oz. Cans
|Seattle’s longtime brewery, Pike Brewing Company, has released its first beer in convenient aluminum cans. One of Seattle’s iconic breweries celebrates one of Seattle’s top tourist destinations with the release of Pike Space Needle Golden IPA in 12 oz. cans that is now available at retailers around the Pacific Northwest.
Pike Space Needle Golden IPA was first brewed in 2012 for the 50th anniversary of the Space Needle. The IPA is brewed with four varieties of Yakima Valley grown hops that includes Cascade, Centennial, Columbus and Summit hops. These four are all used in the kettle prior to adding whole flower Centennial and Summit hops in the hop back. It is then dry-hopped twice, using additional whole flower hops. Pike Space Needle Golden IPA is described as offering full floral, citrus and bitter flavors.
“Canned beer technology has come a long way and ensures our beer is as fresh and full of citrusy hop flavors as the day it was brewed,” notes Head Brewer, Art Dixon in a news release. “All of us at Pike Brewing are happy to make Pike Space Needle Golden IPA the first canned beer in our 26 year history.”
“Cans are the way to go for enjoying craft beer on the water, trails or beaches,” said Charles Finkel, Pike Brewing Company President and Founder in a news release. “When we decided to start canning beer, Pike Space Needle Golden IPA was the obvious choice.”
