Ninkasi and Hopworks Bier Stein Tap Takeover
|By Aaron Brussat
Two Jamies invaded The Bier Stein on the evening of Wednesday July 13, 2011: Ninkasi’s Jamie Floyd and Hopworks’ Jaime Rodriguez. Five beers from each brewery flooded the taplist. Notable rarities were HUB’s Muscles from Brussels Belgian Strong Dark and Evelyn’s Imperial Sunshine IPA, plus Critical Hit Barleywine (440 pounds of hops in a 37 barrel batch!) and a gin barrel-aged version of the KLCC Collaboration session ale from Ninkasi. Floyd and Rodriguez met as brewers at Steelhead in Eugene and are now compatriots on the frontier of the craft beer revolution.
There was a raffle for 20 signed posters of Maiden the Shade by Annabelle Garcia. We raised $300 for the Rex Foundation, a nonprofit that provides extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education.”
Wow, makes one want to move to Eugene. The Bier Stein is such a great place. The events only add to the Stein’s stellar attractions.
