Steel Toe Brewing Releases Cascadian Dark Ale in Minnesota
|Steel Toe Brewing of St. Louis Park, Minnesota has announced a limited run release of their Douglas Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA). Named after the Oregon state tree, the Douglas Fir conifer, Douglas CDA has ties to its namesake. Steel Toe Brewing is the brainchild of former Pelican Pub & Brewery (Pacific City, Oregon) head brewer Jason Schoneman.
Founder/brewer Schoneman and brewer Randin King have announced that their brewery is set to release the CDA here in Minneapolis/St. Paul next week. Schoneman opened Steel Toe in August 2011 after four years at the Pelican. King moved to Minneapolis from Portland after a short stint assisting the Engler family at Occidental Brewing Company and has been with Steel Toe for a year.
The 7.5% ABV dark and hoppy ale highlights Goschie Farms Meridian hops from Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The beer will appear on April 10 at the Steel Toe taproom and at select bar and restaurant accounts in the Twin Cities next week. Distribution is only in the Twin Cities, MN.
