Ferment Brewing & Zeeks Pizza Return with The Reach Pilsner
|Pizza and beer make for one fine combo and two regional players have reunited for a second go-round! Hood River’s Ferment Brewing and Washington State based Zeeks Pizza have partnered once again on The Reach Pilsner. New for this year will see The Reach Pilsner packaged in 4-pack, 16 ounce cans for more convenient drinking.
This collaboration first came to light well over a year ago when the Zeeks team took a trip to Hood River to windsurf and stumbled onto Ferment Brewing’s unique Hana Pils beer. After several months of featuring Hana Pils at Zeeks locations, they knew they wanted to partner up with Ferment on a new Pacific Northwest inspired Pilsner.
The resulting beer is The Reach Pilsner – a crisp and golden lager with a low ABV at 4.6%. The beer boasts a perfect balance of American and German malts, finished off with a subtle touch of fruity tasting Hallertau Blanc and Hüll Melon hops. The beer name was inspired by Zeeks co-founder Tom Vial’s windsurfing expeditions across the Columbia River, starting from Washington and reaching over to the Oregon side.
This year’s version of The Reach Pilsner will be officially launched at Zeeks’ Capitol Hill location on June 6 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. Ferment will have four beers on tap and the brewery’s team will be in attendance to chat with beer fans and raise a pint to the perfect pairing of beer and pizza.
While Zeeks’ Capitol Hill location will be the hub for the release party, The Reach Pilsner will also be available on draft and in cans at Zeeks locations across Washington. For those in Oregon, The Reach Pilsner will be available at the Ferment Brewing taproom along the Hood River Waterfront.
