The Bier Stein of Eugene Re-Opens in New Space
|It’s official the new and improved Bier Stein is open for business as of 11:00 a.m. at 1591 Willamette Street in Eugene, Oregon. The new spot, just eight blocks south of their former location is replete with a full kitchen and much more room for more of what people want – craft beer.
According to manager Dave Stockhausen, the new 12,000-square-foot Bier Stein will host 24 taps and a cask engine up front as well as a back bar with the ability for six additional taps for special events (a total of 31 possible). Much bigger than the old Bier Stein location on 345 11th Ave. which closed its doors on March 23, 2013, the new haunt has been assessed by the fire marshal to have a 247 person occupancy.
Other improved features of husband wife owners Chip Hardy and Kristina Measells’ new location includes a new POS, a Digital Pour beer board (think Bailey’s Taproom in Portland), 18-door bottle cooler, and LED lighting in the whole bar. Stockhausen says says the new lighting system is “environmentally friendly and good for the quality of the beer.”
Speaking of beer quality, a 17 x 30-foot walk-in cooler will assure that there is no warm storage in the new Bier Stein. “Everything will remain cold, including kegs and bottles, from the point of delivery to the point of sale” says Stockhausen.
For those traveling to the new and improved Bier Stein, they will be happy to discover more parking, more friendly faces, and the best of all, more craft beer!
