The Bier Stein Bottleshop & Pub Selected One of America's Top Beer Bars
Welcoming the support and acknowledgement of craft beer fans all over the country, The Bier Stein Bottleshop and Pub has been recognized on CraftBeer.com’s second annual list of Great American Beer Bars as the best beer bar in the Pacific region. Voted by CraftBeer.com readers, the list acknowledges the top beer bars from the five geographical regions of the United States. The Bier Stein was the craft beer bar in Pacific region to garner the most votes from passionate beer lovers.
The increased level of participation by craft beer lovers in this year’s voting demonstrates the significant role that the bars play in the craft beer community. Over 5,000 craft beer bars received support from their loyal customers through nominations and nearly 40,000 votes were cast by craft beer lovers for their subsequent favorites.
Opening in July of 2005, owners Chip Hardy and Kristina Measells have created a fun environment for their community to taste and learn about craft beer. The Bier Stein holds brewery tastings, beer and food pairing dinners, and educational workshops, as well as having the best selection of craft beer in Oregon. The Bier Stein is currently stocking over 1000 different kinds of bottled craft beer, and serves very diverse and always changing line up of craft beer on draft.
The Bier Stein owes a debt of gratitude to its loyal customers who have happily supported its mission to serve the best selection of craft beer on the West Coast. This honor bestowed by customers is due largely to the staff, who provide great service and a wide knowledge base for the curious novice and beer connoisseur alike. All servers are required to pass the Cicerone® Certified Beer Server test, and they hold daily meetings to discuss new beers on tap and in stock.
“In this second year of surveying beer lovers for the Great American Beer Bar competition, we’re excited to see both returning favorites and the newly honored,” said Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com and craft beer program director of the Brewers Association. “All of the participating bars in this contest are reflective of the diverse craft brewing movement. Their vibrant atmospheres parallel the passion and unique personalities that distinguish America’s small and independent producers.”
