Starkbier Fest at Stammtisch & Prost!

A lent tradition that dates back to the middle ages when monks would fast from Ash Wednesday all the way through Easter Sunday will be the central theme of Starkbier Fest. This inaugural event will take place at Stammtisch and Prost! from February 10 – 14, 2016.

The monks believed that liquids not only cleansed the body but also the soul. To remedy this they would make plenty of liquid instead of solid bread from their grain, and then drink it in copious quantities. While the Starkbier Fest fast won’t last 46 days, it will still celebrate their sacrifice by consuming delicious strong biers.

Stammtisch will have eight featured doppelbocks on draft as well as special bier-paired menu items created by Chef Graham Chaney to help you absorb these high ABV beers.

Prost! will be featuring 5 doppelbocks on draft as well as several sandwich & soup specials made with and/or designed to pair with the doppelbocks available.
