Coalition Brewing Co.’s Liquid Pumpkin Patch to feature 8 unique pumpkin beers for a good cause

Coalition Brewing's Gourder Crosser Pumpkin Ale with roasted hatch chilies and other interesting spicesPortland-based startup ImpactFlow will co-host a Liquid Pumpkin Patch event with Coalition Brewing to benefit the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s (BTA) Community Ride and Bicycle Safety Education initiative. 

This event will feature eight unique and yet to be experienced pumpkin craft beers from Coalition. These small batch beers will be like nothing you have yet to taste (even within the realm of pumpkin fermented adult barley beverages) and have been created in small batches with the highest level of artisanal spirit employed. These beers include:

  • Pumpkin Maple Porter
  • Bourbon Pumpkin Maple Porter
  • Mexican Pumpkin Chili Ale
  • Thai Curry Pumpkin Ale
  • Smoked Pumpkin Ale
  • Sour Pumpkin Ale
  • Gluten Free Pumpkin Ale
  • Pumpkin Barley Wine

Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin brew and Coalition will make that winner the official release for next year. The brewery will also be pouring some of their favorite non-pumpkin brews as well.

Coalition Brewing Co.’s Liquid Pumpkin Patch Event Aims To Help Purchase Bicycles and Helmets for Portland’s Underprivileged Residents

WHAT:

ImpactFlow, an online marketplace that matches individual donors and companies with nonprofits in their community, has matched the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA) with Coalition Brewing’s Liquid Pumpkin Patch Event. During this family-friendly event, guests can enjoy music, games, and fun prizes as they sample eight unique small batch pumpkin beers, all for a great cause. The event will benefit the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s (BTA) Community Ride and Bicycle Safety Education initiative as a portion of the proceeds will be used by the BTA to purchase a fleet of 30 bicycles (adult and youth sizes) and 200 bike helmets to deliver bicycle safety education workshops and community rides for Portland’s most under-served areas.

Thrive Pacific NW food truck and Rolling Wrench’s Mobile Bike Shop will also be on hand to lend their services and support to this cause.The companies will donate a percentage of their sales from the event to the BTA’s Community Ride and Bicycle Safety Education initiative.

This sponsorship, matched by ImpactFlow, will empower riders (many youth and immigrants) with confidence, knowledge, and experience to navigate their neighborhoods by bike.

WHY:

This event will benefit East Portland’s low-income residents, immigrants and people of color. Currently, the City of Portland bike counts for this area show biking rates well below most of the city, with the lowest percentage of bike trips being made by women, who report feeling intimidated by the predominantly male bike scene and bike shops.
