In time for the upcoming holiday shopping season, Migration Brewing will open up a temporary pop-up, Migration Brewing Burger Shack at Portland’s Lloyd Center Mall.

As the American shopping mall withers on the vine, Migration Brewing is set to temporarily take over the space that was once home to Billy Heartbeats Diner. This once popular mall 1950s themed diner served its last burger and milkshake on New Years Eve 2015. Now nearly three years later Migration Brewing will take over the space for a pop-up serving burgers, fries and beer through the 2018 holiday shopping season.

Migration Brewing Burger Shack will open later this week on Thursday, November 15th from 11:00am-9:00pm. The space still awaits health department approval but its goal is to be serving up burgers on Thursday. If not the brewer will be serving its beer alongside wine from Underwood Wine and cider from Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider.

Though this is a holiday pop-up, if this goes well the brewery hinted that it could possibly return in the future to the Lloyd Center. Mall management is luring in other local business to help make the space a bit more attractive to local shoppers as the mall continues to be remodeled with its largest future tenant, House of Blues’ new 4,000 seat Rose City Music Hall is tentatively set to open in 2020.
