31st Annual Hillsdale Brewfest Returns This Weekend
This weekend sees the return of the 31st Annual Hillsdale Brewfest. Held each year at the McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House that dates back to 1985, this festival pits various McMenamins breweries against one another for the Battle for the Belt!
The 2024 edition of the Annual Hillsdale Brewfest returns on Saturday, February 24 from 11:00am – 8:00pm and Sunday, February 25 from 11:00am – 5:00pm. Yes, two days of the Hillsdale Brewfest this year!
For those not aware, McMenamins Hillsdale Pub & Brewery is part of Oregon beer history. After the historic Oregon Brewpub Bill was passed in 1985, Hillsdale became Oregon’s first brewpub since prohibition. Eight years later, Hillsdale Brewery hosted its very first brewfest, featuring plenty of beer and good-natured shenanigans in the very first Battle for the Belt.
This year the Hillsdale Brewfest will serve up two taster trays, nine beers each. After sampling both taster trays of the specific beers of your choice, then it is up to you to choose your favorite and hope that it is the beer that wins the coveted Belt!
The samples cover a wide variety of brew styles – from Amber Ales and Chocolate Porters to Lighter Lagers and Hop-forward IPAs. No matter which beers you choose, there will be plenty of laid-back vibes in Hillsdale! There will also be live music from My Siamese Twin under the tent on Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 5:00 – 7:00pm.
