Rogue Ales Releases Straight Outta Newport Double IPA
Originally released for the 2017 Oregon Brewers Festival, Rogue Ales has added Straight Outta Newport to its year-round lineup of beers. This easy drinking yet bold and hoppy Double IPA was one of our top beers at OBF and are happy to see it being packaged.
Straight Outta Newport is a beer that is inspired from the Oregon Coast. The label’s artwork features caricatures of Rogue brewers in front of the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge.
In brewing this bold IPA, Rogue brewers were challenged to create a uniquely West Coast IPA with a new hop profile. Straight Outta Newport uses Citra, Mosaic and Comet hops. At 8.7% ABV and 73 IBU, Straight Outta Newport features a bold, yet inviting flavor profile that disguises its higher ABV from its strong fruit aromas and juicy finish.
“We’re Oregon Coast through and through,” said Rogue President Brett Joyce in a statement. “We wanted to pay homage to our hometown with a world-class beer that dared to push the limits.”
Straight Outta Newport is beginning to hit Rogue’s distribution channel and will be available in 16oz. four pack cans and on draft in select locations. Find it using the Rogue Beer Finder.
