Cascade Tap It Tuesday: Chocolate Raspberry

Our Live from the Barrel program – known as Tap It Tuesday – takes place every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Cascade Brewing Barrel House, 939 SE Belmont.  Tonight’s beer is “Chocolate Raspberry.”

This barrel is a blend that was, until now, only poured for the pub staff.   We used the last keg of this fall’s Fresh Hop Porter and our new version of Busta Nut Brown, then added some raspberry infused triple and straight Bourbonic.  You will get raspberries and chocolate in the nose, and bitter chocolate, tart fruit and dark spices on the tongue.  The Bourbonic finishes it up in a way that only Bourbonic can.  8% abv.

And don’t forget to mark your calendar for our first annual Scottish Ale Festival! The event will take place on Saturday, January 29 from 3 to 11 pm at the Barrel House.  We’ll be pouring nine Scottish ales from regional breweries including Black Raven, Coalition, Fearless, Lucky Lab, Migration, Rock Bottom, Schooner EXACT, and Upright. There will be traditional Scottish music by Ron Gansberg’s own Stone Porridge, plus a few bagpipers thrown in the mix – all of this and no cover charge.
