Tall Paul Fest – Unveiling of the Restored Paul Bunyan Statue

On Saturday one of Portland’s famous statues will reveal its latest makeover. The Kenton Neighborhood Association and the Kenton Business Association are throwing a party to help celebrate the unveiling of the freshly restored Paul Bunyan statue.

Tall Paul Fest will take place on September 9th from Noon-7:00pm just to the west of the statue on N Willis Blvd. Thanks to the Paint Paul Project, the iconic statue has received a fresh coat of paint.

Throughout the day Widmer Brothers Brewing will be pouring Tall Paul Lager alongside an afternoon of food, music, soccer and more. The day opens with Clawfoot Slumber playing Noon-1:00pm. Then at 2:30pm there will be a Portland Timbers match viewing party when they take on the NYCFC.

During the match Timber Jim will come out of retirement and cut log slabs. Slabs will be available to buy in the Live Auction at half time along with other great items like Danner Boots, 107ist Limited Edition 5th Quadrant Timbers scarves, Miniature Paul Bunyan Dolls and more. Top bidder in the live auction will remove the veil from freshly restored 32 foot tall Paul Bunyan right after the game.

After the Paul Bunyan Statue unveiling The Brothers Jam will perform at 5:00pm. Urban German GrillCason’s Fine Meats and Killa Dilla will provide food throughout the afternoon.
