The Oregon Brewers Guild’s month-long party that is Oregon Craft Beer Month continues in honor of the state’s commitment to craft beer. This year’s OCBM comprises 31 beer-filled days and more than 450 beer-related events statewide. Fittingly, it ends with the biggest of all and the largest open-air beer celebration on the continent: the 30th Oregon Brewers Festival, taking place July 26-30 in Portland’s Tom McCall Waterfront Park. One of the longest running and best loved beer festivals in the nation; OBF showcases beers from 91 different craft breweries, plus one from overseas. It’s the perfect finale for an epic, event-filled month.

Gigantic National Brain Tumor Society Fundraiser

Those fine folks at Gigantic generously provided a firkin of Ginormous – MK2 (w/ Calista hops) to this year’s NBTS fundraiser, which aims to help Team Brewpublic once again be the biggest funraiser. This will also be the debut of the beer: the Gigantic crew will be filling it Thursday morning and dropping it off before the event to ensure maximum freshness. Also on tap: Gigantic’s 5th Anniversary Greatest Hits re-brew of Whole in the Head IIPA.

Loyal Legion’s Second Anniversary
Thursday July 13– Sunday July 16, Loyal Legion, 710 SE Sixth Ave.;
They’re celebrating two years at the Legion with a long weekend of events including a Saturday block party, a Breakside tap takeover all weekend featuring $2 pints of Breakside Pilsner, live music, DJ, games, food and dink specials, prize giveaways and lots more The party starts Thursday with the Breakside Loyal Legion Anniversary beer release and Happy Hour all day.
Friday: Liquor and Cocktail showcase featuring Eastside Distilling, Moet Hennessy and Ardbeg Glenmorangie

Fort George Showcase/BBQ
5-8 pm, Thursday July 13, Chill n Fill, 5215 NE Lombard St.;
Join Chill N Fill and Fort George Brewery, for a BBQ and eight great FG beers, including Big Guns, Optimist, 3-Way IPA, Vortex, Raspberry Daze IPA and more including prizes and swag. Also: they’ll be grilling Brats from North Portland’s own Western Meats, plus veggie dogs so vegans are covered.

de Garde BuWeiss Tapping
3 p.m. Thursday July 13, McMenamins 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop, 2290 NW Thurman St.;
They’ll be tapping de Garde’s BuWeiss, A barrel-fermented and barrel-aged Berliner-Weisse, fermented with ambient yeast and bacteria, as are most of the unique beers from this Tillamook brewery. It’s tart with citrus and fruit notes, a subtle grain character, and a hint of funk.

An Evening with Trois Dames

Get ready for a very special evening featuring Troi Dames. Founded in 2002 in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland, Trois Dames has been experimenting with wild yeast, experimental ales, and various barrel-aged projects to much international acclaim. Featured draft list: Brett Saison, Grand Dame Oud Bruin, Saison Houblon, Vielle Saison, Blackwell collab Grisette, Freigeist collab Kirsch Gose.

Beers Burgers and Brains
11 am- 10 pm Wednesday July 19, Ecliptic Brewing, 825 N. Cook St.;
What better way to help a noble cause such as Team Brewpublic and the National Brain Tumor Society than by hanging out at one of Portland’s great brewpubs and enjoying an Ecliptic burger and a couple of John Harris’s excellent beers? A portion of sales from the day will be donated to Team Brewpublic for the more than 600,000 living with brain tumors.
