Home Valley, WA:  Skamania County, Washington has a rich and varied history but there are two reoccurring themes that stand the test of time … logging and Sasquatch.  In recognition and celebration, several businesses in the Wind River Valley have joined with the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce to create Logtoberfest!  This event has now become a fall tradition in combination with local favorite, Bigfoot Bash and Bounty.

Bigfoot Bash at Logtoberfest takes place Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Gorge-ous Weddings located at Wind Mountain Ranch in Home Valley, Washington from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm with free admission for all ages.  Engage with and experience chain saw art, blacksmithing, wooden crafts, vintage logging equipment demonstrations, Sasquatch vendors, autumn plants, pumpkins and more.  Kids can make apple cider with apples donated by A & J Select Market, using a cider press courtesy of Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum.  Stevenson High School cheerleaders will be on hand to help the little ones with fall crafts they can take home.

On the main stage, sponsored by Riverview Community Bank, Bigfoot Mojo will kick off the event with their foot-stomping combination of bluegrass and Gypsy jazz from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.  We are then thrilled to welcome back Cliff Barackman, host of Finding Bigfoot on Animal Planet.  Cliff will share his stories of Sasquatch research and adventures at 3:45 pm.  And closing out the day will be Britnee Kellogg’s band who will rock the house with country music from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.  Britnee was on American Idol in 2013 and recently opened for Blake Shelton.

Regional craft breweries including Backwoods Brewing, Walking Man, Thunder Island, Everybody’s, Double Mountain, Sedition, Freebridge, Dwinell Country Ales, Brothers Cascadia, and Trap Door will be featured along with wine from Flume Vineyard, Jester and Judge cider and whiskey by Skunk Brother Spirits.  Backwoods will be rolling out their new “Logtoberfest” beer, a Marzen lager and their ode to Germany’s Oktoberfest.  Entrance to the beer garden is $10 and includes one beverage ticket plus a commemorative Mason jar that will serve as your glass.  Additional tickets can be purchased at $5.00 each.   Dress like a logger and receive a free drink!  A variety of food vendors will ensure you do not go away hungry serving up barbecue, Mexican, Filipino, hearty soups plus gelato and other goodies.

The views from Wind Mountain Ranch are unending and we hear rumors that the elusive creature himself may make an appearance during the day’s fun.  Looking to spend the night?  Grab a cabin right on the venue by calling Wind Mountain Ranch at 503-360-4707.  Or book with Carson Hot Springs Resort and ask for the Logtoberfest discount of 15%, 509-427-8296.  For all the details and full schedule of events, please find us on Facebook or call the Skamania County Chamber of Commerce at 800-989-9178.
