Ordnance Brewing in Boardman, Oregon to Close

Another Oregon brewery has announced that it is closing down. Yesterday in a social media post, Ordnance Brewing from Boardman, Oregon announced its pending closure of its brewery and taproom in this Columbia River town about 3 hours east of Portland. Its final day of service will be Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Best known for its Bloops – Blueberry Wheat Ale, Ordnance Brewing has been brewing for nearly nine years. The brewery was founded in 2014 by Craig Coleman and the late Mark McLeod. The family has deep roots in farming and decided to open a brewery in an area of Oregon that was in a brewery desert.

When the brewery opened in 2014, it was brewing on a smaller, 7-barrel brewhouse. But a few years later, Ordnance Brewing added a 50-barrel brewhouse to grow the brewery into a regionally distributed brewery. At first Ordnance Brewing began to package its beers in bottles and was soon followed by cans and were distributed across the Pacific Northwest.

Also during this time of growth, Ordnance Brewing took over the former Neighborhood Dudes Taproom in Wilsonville, Oregon. This taproom originally opened in 2014 but when Ordnance Brewing took it over in 2016, the place was renamed as Ordnance Brewing – Wilsonville. It served both Ordnance brewed beers and guest beers. This taproom will continue on in Wilsonville, likely serving beer and cider from other regional producers once the Ordnance Brewing brewed beers are depleted.

It’s with a heavy heart we are announcing that as of Saturday, August 26th; Ordnance Brewing and the Boardman Tap House will be closing its doors permanently. 

The Ordnance family can’t thank everyone enough who came out to support your local brewery. Whether it was a Bingo, Trivia, Lotería, Karaoke, paint class or game day; we appreciate each and every one of you for coming to enjoy our cold beer and our “Cheers” atmosphere!

We’re happy to say that this week we will still have Bingo on Tuesday and Trivia on Thursday. Then Saturday we will be throwing a huge farewell bash with more details later next week.
