George Dickel Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007
George Dickel Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007 is now available.

With the distiller’s first Bottle in Bond release, George Dickel was honored with the 2019 Whisky of the Year from Whisky Advocate for its George Dickel Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Fall 2005 release. Then its follow up, George Dickel Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Fall 2008, was awarded Double Gold at the San Francisco International Spirits Competition.

Now out in stores is George Dickel Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007 as it is the third Bottle in Bond release from the Tullahoma, Tennessee based distiller. As the first two Bottles in Bond releases were Fall vintages, this new release is the first Spring vintage selected by Master Distiller Nicole Austin.

“As the Bottled in Bond category continues to grow and more distilleries are experimenting with the style,” said Austin, in a press release. “I’m excited to add our first Spring vintage to the George Dickel’s Bottled in Bond series. Like the previous two releases, this spirit shares the hallmarks of George Dickel’s nutty and waxy fruity characteristics, with this year’s release also featuring unique notes of cherry. We’re proud whisky drinkers can enjoy this rare, 13-year-old high proof liquid for a great price.”

Austin continues to build and elevate the George Dickel name with each release from Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. This year’s Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007 is no exception. It’s great to find a 13-year aged whisky on the shelf for under $45.00 that offers plenty of flavor nuances that will keep your taste buds wandering with each sip.

The current George Dickel Bottled in Bond uses the standard George Dickel mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. As with the rest of the George Dickel Tennessee Whisky portfolio, this whisky is chill charcoal filtered, After aging for 13 years, it is bottled at 100 proof to meet the Bottled in Bond label requirements.

Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007 pours a nice caramel color with plenty of legs when served in a Glencairn glass. Aromas of chocolate, cherry and mint initially come forth. A bit of oak dryness is present as well. Very little alcohol is noticed even though this is 100 proof.

Upon first sip, fruit flavors and baking spices are quite evident. There’s cinnamon, brown sugar, maple and vanilla all in there that leads a slightly dry finish. The whisky is a bit smooth for its higher proof and is enjoyable neat or with a drop of water.

With an impressive 13-year age statement on the label, Bottled in Bond Distilling Season Spring 2007 is once again an approachable whisky that will fare well in your whiskey cabinet. It’s price right and is one worthy of sharing with good friends.
