Taplister Selected as Finalist for SoMe Awards

Founded in Portland, Oregon by a group of tech and beer geeks, Taplister, a free service aimed toward aiding craft beer drinker locate craft beer on tap, was recently nominated for a SoMe Award. SoMe’s (short for “Social Media”) honor the best social media projects, programs and campaigns in the Pacific Northwest. Last year, Social Media Club Portland, SEMpdx (Search Engine Markets, Portland), the Software Association of Oregon and Innotech presented one of the nation’s first social media awards programs to a capacity crowd of more than 200 marketing and technology leaders. These organizations – joined by the blogging mavens at TMMpdx.com – are planning an expanded event this year. The SoME Awards moves to a 500-seat ballroom at Portland’s famed Multnomah Athletic Club, with libations for every ticket-holder, red-carpet interviews with winners, live streaming and more.

Taplister, reliant upon the microblog Twitter, as well as a Mobile app for I-Phones (aka Beer Signal), and the collective power of the beer geek community to gather up-to-date tap list information, has been named a finalist in the category of Best Social Media App – The Next Big Thing Award . Says Taplister co-founder Kerry Finsand: “We gather all that information on the Taplister servers and bring you the world’s first live local beer search engine!” Finsand informed us recently that Taplister is available in more than 20 city nationwide and has more than 5000 downloads of its Beer Signal application. He also hopes to expand the application to Android phones in the near future.


The enthused Finsand adds: “Taplister is truly a passion project that relies on other passionate craft beer fans to help it grow and stay updated.
