The month of April has been a fine one from McMenamins as the longtime Pacific Northwest brewer has released three beers. These beer releases include Imperial Purple Haze, Sabertooth Hazy IPA, and Pau Hana Gold: Island Lager.
Details on all three beers are listed below.
Imperial Purple Haze
A light, crisp, and refreshingly fruity ale. Slightly more tart and fuller bodied than our normal Purple Haze, this recipe is made with Boysenberries, more grain and hops. ABV: 7.2% Special Ingredients: Boysenberries
Sabertooth Hazy IPA
This hazy IPA is made with both Sabro hops which has a citrus profile, plus an experimental hops called HBC 586 which has fruity flavors of mango, lychee, guava, citrus, with slight sulfur & herbal notes. ABV: 6% Special Techniques: Dry Hopped
Pau Hana Gold: Island Lager
Some say this lager is as refreshing as an ocean breeze, plus the name Pau Hana is Hawaiian for “work is finished” so there’s that. This was the first beer to come out of the Kalama Harbor Lodge Brewery and has become a staple of this location with label art from Lyle Hehn. ABV: 4.7% Special Ingredients: Lager yeast and noble hops
