For the 2018 hop harvest Gigantic Brewing will release two fresh hop beers with its Sodbusted VI: Return of the Simcoe Fresh Hop Pale and HopBot Fresh Hop Citra IPA.
In recent weeks Gigantic Brewing traveled down Interstate 5 to gather fresh hops from their friends at Sodbuster Farms in Marion, Oregon. There they picked up freshly harvested Simcoe Hops for its Sodbusted VI: Return of the Simcoe Fresh Hop Pale. Then on a return trip the brewery picked up freshly picked Citra Hops for its forthcoming HopBot Fresh Hop Citra IPA, a beer brewed in collaboration with New Seasons Markets.
The first of the two fresh hop beers to be released will be Sodbusted VI: Return of the Simcoe Fresh Hop Pale on September 19th. A nod to the Star Wars franchise, Sodbusted VI returns with some great label artwork from Buzz Parker that was inspired by the film. Using fresh Simcoe Hops, this Pale Ale sits at 5.5% ABV.
Then about a week after the release of Sodbusted VI, Gigantic will release its HopBot Fresh Hop Citra IPA, a collaboration with New Seasons Markets. HopBot is an all Citra hop IPA at 6% ABV. New Seasons’ employee Joshua Grimes designed the label for HotBot after winning a contest held for the grocery’s employee.
Both Sodbusted VI: Return of the Simcoe Fresh Hop Pale and HopBot Fresh Hop Citra IPA will be available in 500mL (16.9oz) bottles and on draft for a limited time.
