Full Sail Brewing Allman’s All Mild Release

Full Sail Brewing's Allman's All MildFull Sail has scheduled two “Meet the Brewer and the Beer” events to showcase this new beer. The first Meet Brewer and the Beer event will be at Full Sail at Riverplace in Portland, Tuesday, May 15th, from 5:00 – 6:30PM. The second is at the Full Sail Tasting Room and Pub in Hood River, on Thursday, May 17th from 5:00 to 6:30PM. Join the Full Sail crew to celebrate and toast a pint of this new brew.

With each Brewer’s Share series beer, Full Sail picks a local charity to receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the beer. Joshua has chosen to support the Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute, so every keg of Allman’s All Mild benefits this organization whose mission is to create life-long learning opportunities that foster a sense of wonder and community stewardship in the natural systems of the Columbia River Gorge.

The Brewer’s Share Experimental series is a line-up of small batch draft beers where each Full Sail brewer takes a turn hand-crafting their own single batch recipe. A portion of the proceeds benefit a local charity or organization of their choice. Full Sail’s Brewer’s Share Experimental beers will only be available on tap at Full Sail’s Tasting Room and Pub in Hood River, Oregon, and at Full Sail’s Brewery at Riverplace, in Portland, Oregon. Growlers to go are available.  The next Brewer’s Share Experimental will be brewed by Brewer, Clinton Wertzbaugher and is planned for late summer.

Next Generation Strong Ale Release @ PINTS

ThuPints Brewing Co.rsday May 17 starting at 4pm we will be celebrating the release of Next Generation Strong Ale at the PINTS Urban Taproom with $3 pints all day.  Next Generation Strong Ale was brewed for this weekend’s Sasquatch Brew Fest and also doubles as a tribute to my newborn son, Hunter Royal Beckwith.  Here’s the description:
Next Generation Strong Ale 7.8% ABV
This NW strong ale brewed for the 2012 Sasquatch Festival is made with floor malted UK base malts, light munich, caramunich and special B malts.  Cluster and columbus hops balance the rich, dark fruit malt character creating a robust pint that pleases malt and hopheads alike!
For those of you who haven’t made it down to the taproom or weren’t able to make our grand opening a few weeks ago this event is a great time to come try the full line of PINTS beers.
Looking further ahead, by the end of May we will also have on tap our spring session seasonal, Thomas Trotter English IPA.  Inspired by my undergraduate research work on beer in the  18th century British navy, Thomas Trotter IPA was brewed with a variety of floor malted UK bqse malts a touch of brown malt for color and 100% English Fuggle hops.  June will see the arrival of our summer seasonal, Green Line Summer IPA, an organic session IPA brewed for NAOBF that willbe available all summer long.
Hope to see everyone next week or sometime in the future.
Cheers,

Zach Beckwith

Head Brewer
PINTS Brewing Co.

Gigantic Brewing is Here!

Gigantic Brewing founding brewers Van Havig (left) and Ben Love

On Wednesday May 9, 2012 Gigantic Brewing officially opened its doors to the public. The industrial brewpub at 5224 SE 26th Avenue in Portland, Oregon’s reputation of esteemed brewers Van Havig and Ben Love preceded the first tastes of beer by most, and with good reason. Havig and Love have both asserted themselves at two of the state’s most esteemed brewers by creating some of the region’s most beloved craft beers. In addition, both have been avid members of the brewing community in a myriad of capacities.
